For our Midwest readers, there are a couple of events coming up this weekend: Saturday's 3rd Annual Northwest Indiana Comic Con, and Sunday's Milwaukee Comic Con. Both of these events are driving distance from Chicago. It's a great way to kick off the convention season.
Not to shamelessly over-promote ourselves, but Geeks A Gogo will have a table at Northwest Indiana Comic Con on Saturday. We'll be distributing flyers for upcoming events that will be going on throughout 2016. You'll have a chance to meet some of our writers, and a chance to buy reasonably-priced T-shirts with the Geeks A Gogo logo (that rhymes!) on them. This is our first appearance at a comic convention as a vendor, so come out and meet us. If you've got an event to promote, then come by and give us your card so we can cover your event.
Also, there will be a lot of great guests at NWI Comic Con--including Batman artist Tim Seeley, Superior Ironman artist Cory Hamsher, and the creative team behind Squarriors, Ashley Witter and Ash Maczo (who are also show runners for Count.I.Con). And that's just to name a few.
As well, there will be a cosplay contest for children and adults, and a ton of vendors selling comics, toys, games, and more. This convention is in it's third year, and it's been growing in popularity, so don't miss out. Go early to grab a good parking spot.
NWI Comic Con is taking place at Halls Of St George, 905 E Joliet St, Schererville, Indiana 46375 between 11 AM and 7 PM.
Check out a few pictures we have selected during Monica's coverage from the previous 2 years of the convention:
And then on Sunday, if you're in Milwaukee, or if you feel like taking the trip up there, check out Milwaukee Comic Con. It's an event put on my Mighty Con. There you can meet artists such as Jeff Balke of Grimm's Fairytales fame, and Disney artist, Philo Barnhart. Also, stop by and see our buddies from Icon Gaming Tournaments at the event. They'll be running video game competitions throughout the day.
Milwaukee Comic Con is happening at American Serb Hall, 5101 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53219 on Sunday from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
