Windycon was held in The Westin in Lombard on Nov 9 to 11, 2018 It is Chicago-land's oldest Science Fiction Con!
It is a science fiction, fantasy, and literary based convention. The con host to about 1000 attendees. It is a small con and has a very intimate atmosphere.

Just like all cons, they host various panels, workshops, has guests, vendor halls, and even a costume contest!

One big difference between this con and your usual comic con is their “doors don’t close” after 6 or 7 PM.
Patrons can watch various anime or sci fi movies that are playing, or if you are into table top gaming there is a large room to play those too!

This con hosts an amazing after-party and events. On the main floor they have official karaoke or dance parties. Throughout the hotel different people, groups, and clubs host their own room parties to win prizes. Parties are well decorated and have their own theme. Patrons vote in ballets who the winner is for each category.
This is a small con but not only is it different from the large mega cons, it is a great place to meet new people and to hang out and relax. It is a nice local con to attend in the fall in between the start and end of the yearly convention seasons!
Look out for Shining Polaris at Daisho Con this weekend! She'll be one of the cosplay judges.
