Machesney Park, IL - The Gaming Outsider is proud to present the Rock River Valley Video Game Convention to the Rockford area for the first time. “R2V2” will take place at Cataclysm Games and Collectibles (8289 Burden Rd) on Saturday, September 21st and features special guests Melissa Hutchison, Cissy Jones and Courtenay Taylor. The convention will have 18 vendor tables selling video games from every console generation, several extremely rare consoles and games available for guests to play while attending the event, as well as virtual reality headsets and arcade cabinets. R2V2 is intended to be a celebration of video games for avid gamers to come together with like-minded individuals from the Rockford community to share in their love for the hobby.
Tickets on the day of the event will be $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under the age of 12.
Advance tickets will be sold for $12.00 and $7.00 respectively at thegamingoutsider.com/r2v2.
Fans of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series won’t want to miss this opportunity! Melissa Hutchison is mostly know for her work as the iconic Clementine. Her other work includes lending her voice to games such as The Wolf Among Us, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Back to the Future: The Game, and countless others. The Gaming Outsider is proud to have her visit R2V2 this year, and we can’t wait to introduce her to all of you!
Cissy Jones is an award-winning actress, known most-notably for her work as Delilah in Campo Santo‘s Firewatch. The role earned her a BAFTA award in 2017. Cissy has lent her voice to several other notable video games. You can hear her in Darksiders III as Fury, Life is Strange as Joyce Price, Telltale’s The Walking Dead as Katjaa, and countless other games.
Courtenay Taylor is known mostly for her work as the female lead in 2015’s Fallout 4, which earned her a BTVA Video Game Voice Acting nomination the following year. She’s also featured in popular games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Rage 2, Destiny 2, and
The Gaming Outsider also welcomes local business partner Dairyhäus to R2V2. Owner/Operator, Brent Murray, will be on-site selling ice cream from his food truck the day of the event. Dairyhäus has become a staple in the Rockford area for their high-quality, delicious ice cream and focus on the Rockton community.
