8 Female Superheroes from Around the World


In honor of International Women's Day, here are several female super heroes from atound the world!

From Belgium, we have Mega Mindy. Mega Mindy is a Flemish children’s superhero drama airing on the belgian TV channel Ketnet. she's a girl who lives with her grandparents and works as a police officer but also has a secret identity as superhero Mega Mindy.

From Irelend, we have Shamrock. Shamrock (also known as Molly Fitzgerald) is an Irish superhero born in Dunshaughlin and was the daughter of a militant member of the IRA. Shamrock is possessed by the souls of thousands of victims of wars who manifest themselves as poltergeists which affect probability within a 20-foot radius of her, altering situations so that she is given an advantage, in essence having “The Luck of the Irish”. Created by Marvel, Shamrock first appeared in Marvel Super-Heroes: Contest of Champions.

Mawu is one of the Orishas, a extra-dimensional race of beings still worshipped as gods Africa and as members of the Loa or patron gods of Voodoo. Together with the rainbow serpent, Oshunmare, she created Ifé, realm of the African Gods, using her own life force known as Lido.Click here for the sourceAnya Sofia Corazon is a fictional superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She initially went by the pseudonym Araña, but later changed to using Spider-Girl, commonly referred to as Spider-Anya.

Darna is a fictional superhero from the Philippines created by writer Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo in 1950. She first appeared in Pilipino Komiks (Ace Publications, Inc.) #77 (May 13, 1950). One of the most popular Filipino superheroes, Darna has appeared in many films and several television series through the decades which have far overshadowed her actual comics tenure. Darna was thought to be inspired by Wonder Woman's character. She transforms by swallowing a magical stone and shouting, "Darna!".

Peng Deilan is dubbed the Wonder Woman of China. She also leads the Justice League of China. Deilan has similar powers to Wonder Woman - she has a lasso with which she is very proficient, although it is pink and has more to do with harnessing her internal energy (or qi, if you like) and sending electrical shocks through her foes.

Sri Asih is a female superhero from Indonesia. They said that her character has a lot of influence from western comics. Her super powers include flying, super strength, multiplying, She transforms when she says "Dewi Asih".

Ruth Bat-Seraph was born near Jerusalem, Israel. She was raised on a special kibbutz run by the Israeli government after her power manifested. Ruth was the first superhuman agent to serve with the Mossad (the Israeli secret service). She became a police officer in addition to serving as a government agent. Her first public act as Sabra was a battle with the Hulk, whom she mistakenly believed was working with Arab terrorists operating in Israel.

Shakti is Goddess Kali's transcending incarnation. Kali is the destroyer of demons and the last word in woman-power. She has a raging desire to get justice for women in this man's world. The distress cries from any woman, anywhere in the world, turn her ordinary self of Chanda into a ferocious killer known as Shakti. Shakti is Maha Kali - Great Kali.
