We had a great time at the event, which was held at Emporium Barcade in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. That means that the event included classic video games, pinball, a cosplay contest, live music from The Dread Crew of Oddwood, and of course samplings of Ommegang's hoppy Seven Kingdoms Ale.
Seven Kingdoms is a marriage of a traditional Belgian-style wheat and a hop-forward American ale – but unlike so many of the marriages on the show, the resulting hoppy wheat is pleasant, playful and inspired. At 6.9% ABV, it possesses a nuanced complexity that pairs nicely with the hop-forward characteristics that make it surprisingly refreshing. - Ommegang.com

Sadly, Ommegang only hosts this event once a year in Chicago. It seems like each year, this event keeps getting bigger and better. Towards the end of the festivities, I had a chance to speak with Ommegang's Marketing Coordinator, Jared Treanor. Jared was very happy with how the event turned out , and was thrilled to see the enthusiasm from all the attendees. He was amazed of the number of cosplayers who showed their creativity during the event. Seven Kingdoms is one of Jared's favorite, as well as Valar Morghulis- a dark beer they released in the previous years.
