Peach Carr burst onto the fashion scene as a cheeky self-taught Chicago designer on Season 8 and Season 2 All Stars of Project Runway. Drawing from her 60’s and 70’s childhood, Peach finds inspiration for her designs from the music, art and vibe of that era. When designing, Peach always asks herself if Edie Sedgewick would have worn it. Dubbed by Tim Gunn as “Country Club Chic,” Peach designs for the woman who likes to be on-trend yet comfortable and polished. Her pieces range from bold wrinkle free day wear to chic evening and even stretch sequins for cocktails. The entire collection is made in Chicago by women, and is machine washable. “Real Housewife of NYC” Alex McCord, RHNJ’s Dina Manzo, Linda Yu, Leanne Trotter and Chicago’s own actress/writer Nora Dunn are among Peach’s celebrity clients.
Michelle Tan launched her eponymous fashion line in fall 2000, with a devotion to deconstruction and detail that helped make her one of Chicago’s fastest growing designers. After winning the “Style Maker and Rule Breaker” award from Fashion Group International and the Marshall Field’s Distinction Award, in 2001 Michelle sold her fashion line to the iconic Marshall Field’s department store. Since then, the Michelle Tan line has become internationally renowned, sold to more than 60 stores throughout the U.S. and overseas. In 2006, Michelle opened her first flagship boutique in Wicker Park, and was appointed as a Fashion Adviser on Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley’s Fashion Council. Michelle’s designs and handbags have been worn by celebrities including Scarlett Johansson and Sarah Jessica Parker, and featured in magazines including Lucky, Elle, The New York Times, Chicago magazine and Chicago Social.
