International Tabletop Day 2017 is happening all over the city this weekend.

ITTD Unites Hundreds of Thousands of Gamers Worldwide Through Local Retail and Online Events

Exciting Exclusive Products for Some of the World’s Most Popular Games Available at Participating Retailers

Warm up those dice and dust off your meeples! International Tabletop Day (ITTD), the worldwide celebration of the tabletop gaming and community, will take place this Saturday, April 29, 2017. ITTD is the first and only board gaming holiday – a global celebration unites hundreds of thousands of gamers around the world, both in person and through the Geek & Sundry digital network. Presented by Geek & Sundry, this year’s event will feature a 18-hour live stream, a website featuring over 1,700 global events, countless special guests, and a charity stream for Extra Life, which has raised over $30 million for sick children in local hospitals since its inception in 2008.

"I have been very lucky to be a part of some great projects that show just how great board games are to new and old players alike,” says Ivan Van Norman, host and executive producer of ITTD 2017. “International Tabletop Day has done wonders to share the joy of community and the goodwill humans bring when they come together to play a game."

International Tabletop Day is spurred on by thousands of participating retailers across the world. The retailers each host special events for their patrons and fans who will show up and have the opportunity to get their hands on exclusive products that are only available on this day through participating retailers. The list of products is listed on geekandsundry.com and includes:

  • Lucha Jefe - ITTD Exclusive Microgame (Grey Fox Games): As luchador managers, you’ll go head-to-head to recruit the best fighters and maintain the best record.

  • Biotix Microbes Mini-Expansion (Smirk & Dagger): Use this mini-expansion to further press your luck by growing the largest cultures while simultaneously sabotaging your lab-mates. This expansion also adds “incubator” cards and adds a new set of rules and mechanics to the game.

  • Game -Most Popular Game in all Mother Russia: Not Really (Hunter Books): Throw a wrench into your long-time games: This simplistic expansion is used to create new house rules for other tabletop games in your library.

  • Class Tokens (Broken Egg Games): Players declare their allegiance to classes such as Ranger, Wizard or Bard with this set of acrylic tokens used in commemoration of ITTD.

This year’s International Tabletop Day’s theme, How Did Board Games Change Your Life, is centered around the impact that board games have had within the community. Geek & Sundry is featuring these community videos on their livestream to create an inspirational message that spans across the globe.

Board gamers will be able to participant with thousands of their peers online by watching Geek & Sundry’s marathon livestream, which starts at 6am PDT on April 29, 2017 at twitch.tv/geekandsundry.
