Elk Grove Library Comic Con 2018

September 27, 2018

Elk Grove Library Comic Con happen today on Sept 22.  This is the first time the library held a con.  Like most library hosted cons, it is small with many local artists and vendors, and it is very family friendly.  They are always free to attend as well.  Even though this is their first year, it was very well organized and had a lot of attendees.  Several large Cosplay groups were there such as the Star Wars group - 501st Legion and Rebel Legion, Windy City Ghostbusters, and charity group Costumers with a Cause.  With these groups there was a variety of beautifully detailed heroes, villains, and princesses for all kids to enjoy!

Outside the library in the parking lot was several movie inspired cars!  There was also a local farmers market nearby that brought people in as well.  Patrons could enjoy the inside festivities or stayed outside in the great weather and had fun.

The con had several panels, many kid activities such as face painting and light saber training. They also had a costume contest where winners took home a gift bag of prizes.

Check out your local library and see if they have their own comic con!  Great to visit in between con season.  I had a lot of fun participating at this Elk Grove Public Library event and hope they continue it on for next year!
