Walker Stalker Boston -- the old meets the new

July 26, 2016

Zombie Mondays

Genre fans will have a lot to look forward to on July 30 and 31.

Walker Stalker Boston will take place at the Boston Westin Waterfront.

The schedule, which is posted at http://walkerstalkercon.com/boston/schedule/ , includes a variety of events ranging from discussions on special effects to cosplay competitions and a Bisquick Challenge. Not the least of these are the panel discussions that will include guests like Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, David Morrisey (the Governor from 'The Walking Dead') and actors from television shows such as 'Gotham' and "Bates Motel."

As an old school zombie fan, two of the scheduled guests caught my eye -- Judith O'Dea and Russ Steiner from the original 'Night of the Living Dead." Fans of the 1968 cult classic will recall them as the bickering, ill-fated siblings that appear at the opening of the film.

It's nice to see a direct link between 'The Walking Dead' and George Romero's original precedent setter.

Guests are advised that security will be tight. Bags may be searched and there will be restrictions on cosplay weapons (for example, no fake or eal guns will be allowed). Details are available as security updates at the convention website.
