Boiler Con is a FREE comic book convention happening this weekend at Purdue University hosted by the Purdue Student Union Board. The event is on April 9th from 2:30pm-10:30pm.
Participate in official Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! card game tournaments and strut your cosplay in our official cosplay contest.
Alex was one of the attendees from Boiler Con's inaugural event last year, and he filled us in on how it went -
"It was still fun! It was great to see plenty of people show up to the event, and definitely a good amount of cosplayers. Dirk Manning was the special guest, and he got to speak about what he does and his creative process. These were just a few cool things I enjoyed during the Con.".
We asked Alex what would be something to look forward to this year -
"As opposed to last year, the line-up of guests seems much more extensive, with guests from multiple animes slated to appear in panels. There looks like there will also be more artists and vendors than last year, as well as a more in depth cosplay contest and card game tournaments! This event is definitely evolving, and I'm excited to see how this is going to turn out."
Professional artists Bill Reinhold (known mostly for drawing characters such as The Badger, Punisher, Batman, and Silver Surfer), Linda Lessmann (Marvel Comics and First comics.), Matthew Waite (Image Comics), and Andy Korty (The Manor) will be at the convention.
Also in attendance is Vic Mignona (Edward Elric from the Fullmetal Alchemist series) and Sailor Moon Voice actors - Barbara Radecki (Sailor Neptune) and Vince Corazza (Tuxedo Mask).
